Info to get Gore to run in Linux
You need to have WINE installed.("W"INE "I"s "N"ot an "E"mulator)
Known versions of WINE to work:
Wine 20031212
also
Wine 20040505
WINE is here
You can also try getting it from rpmfind.net
To run, start X Window, open terminal window, and change to Gore directory. Type "wine Gore.exe" I have an nVidia GeForceFX 5900 card and RedHat9. I use the latest drivers from http://www.nvidia.com/linux/
Installing GORE
You have to install Gore on a Windows machine. I dual-boot to get this accomplished, but you might also be able to do this by running Win4Lin or VMWare. Once installed, copy the Gore directory from your Windows drive into your virtual Windows drive under WINE. Mine is /usr/local/games/wine/c/Program Files/Gore
How to run a Gore server using WINE under Linux
After installing Gore. Copy my goreserver script to the Gore directory. This script allows you to run multiple Gore servers using Linux. You have to run it within the Gore directory. Type "./goreserver", and it will tell you how to run it. It's just a shell script so you can read it as a text file and see what it does.
